Day 14—Gaspé Peninsula

The easternmost part of Quebec, the Gaspé Peninsula, juts out into the Atlantic Ocean and forms the souths side of the St Lawrence River.

It is wild, and contains at least 4 iconic Quebec nature parks that we’ll be visiting in 3 days: Bic, Gaspesie, Forillon (also a Canadian National Park), and Bonaventure Island. Writing now from St-Anne des Monts, at the foot of two mountain ranges, where it’s rainy and sea-breezy.  Only French is spoken here.

The coastal towns invite long bike rides (we did an 11 mile ride at sunset that was breathtaking), long walks in and around tidal pools, eating in bistros and seafood restaurants, and, above all, just relaxing.

  1. Did you check out the church? It’s suppose to be spectacular. Everything looks so inviting . Glad to see you are having some great relaxation time.
